Self-referential filters

Notion's self-referential filters enable users to create linked databases that are automatically filtered. It saves you a TON of time, especially when managing multiple related databases.

For example, if you want to find all tasks associated with a certain client, you can do the following:

  1. Create a new template in your client CRM & in the content of the page, add a linked database of your tasks database (your tasks database should have a relation to your CRM database)
  2. In your linked tasks database, filter the related CRM property by the name of the newly created template

→ That’s it! Each time you’ll create a new client in your CRM using the template, you’ll find a linked database of your tasks automatically filtered by the client you just created.
